Well we are pleased to have learned that our recent submission to Esri’s flagship publication ArcNews has just been published in the Summer edition.
In the article we discuss the work we are doing with the Idaho Department of Transportation. Helping them improve asset management and data sharing using ArcGIS Online (AGOL). Taking a collaborative approach we have helped set up AGOL and published editable services to the platform. We have wrestled with offline editing on both iPads, and Android and arrived at a solution which uses both tile packages for offline base maps generated in ArcMap 10.1, and hosted feature services from ArcGIS Online stored locally on the device. Offline editing with photo attachments and geolocation of point features has proved complex. We are still working through now minor issues, but a working solution is now being successfully tested in the field.
