Free Mobile ArcGIS Map App Upgraded


[Salt Lake City - 2nd October, 2011] In June 2011, WebMapSolutions released a cross platform mobile ArcGIS map viewer to the Apple, Android and BlackBerry app stores. Based on the ESRI Flex ArcGIS viewer, the app was released as a free download.

After feedback from users, we have upgraded the free viewer. These changes dramatically improve on the first release. A key addition to this new version is the ability of users to host their own configuration file, which controls the layers loaded by the viewer. Users can now add their own ArcGIS Dynamic, Tiled and Feature layers to the viewer.

GeoMobile for ArcGIS includes:

– The application reads a config file, hosted on any Web server, allowing users to add their own layers.
– Viewer loads dynamic, tiled and feature ArcGIS layers.
– Routing Widget included.
– Query Widget included
– Geocoder Widget included.
– Measure Widget included.
– Layer Widget included

– Geolocator included

Mobile ArcGIS Viewer Released


[Salt Lake City - 16 September, 2011] WebMapSolutions have just released a free version of their ArcGIS Viewer. This is a highly customizable map viewer which takes full advantage of the GIS capabilities of ESRI’s ArcGIS. It is based on popular ESRI ArcGIS Flex Viewer.

Now you can take ArcGIS into the field. Not only can you visualize your own layers, but conduct spatial analysis and search while on site.

The mobile ArcGIS viewer brings new context to ArcGIS analysis and visualization. No longer office bound, users can use the tools provided in the field, to make better and faster decisions. The ArcGIS viewer is modular, allowing new custom tools to be added. It has a clean interface, is highly responsive and easy to use.

The free mobile ArcGIS viewer gives a feel for what is possible with this application. It allows users to add their own layer, and includes an interactive overview map, geo-coder and annotation/measure tool. The fee based viewer extends the free version, based on client requirements.

Gone are the days when GIS is done remotely. The ArcGIS Viewer allows ArcGIS to be accessed anytime, anyplace. It represents a first step into the future of GIS.
